Ghorepani trek
is a wonderful opportunity to witness the beauty of
the Annapurna region, offering the spectacular
mountain scenery along with charming villages
inhabited particularly by the Gurung & Magar, dense
rhododendron forests full of birds and deep
sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurna
with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare
(Fishtail Peak) dominating the skyline. .. The trip
starts just north of Pokhara city and winds through
the Poon Hill area passing into the colorful
Annapurna region.
The Poon Hill is one of the best points to catch the
panoramic view of Himalayas; including Machhapuchhre,
Annapurna, Nilgiri, Tilicho and Dhaulagiri.

Main attraction
Mid -hill cultural area, Gurung, Magar, Brahmin, and
Ksetri are the inhabitants mainly, one of the best
views from Poon Hill , off the beaten path, with
unforgettable short journey, a great photographic
site showing whole Annapurna, Dhaulagiri ranges.

Accessibility
Fly or drive to Pokhara, by land 7 hr. drive and by
air 30 minute, morning transfer to trailhead and
starts trek, after the trek again drive back to
Pokhara from take out point.
The Route
Max. Altitude 3200m. Poon Hill/ teahouse lodges 2700
m., 5-6 hr. average walks per day, easy trail, and
temperate climate jungle walk.
Best season
Aug. to May, Rhododendron blooms in the spring.
Facility
Teahouse lodges managed by ACAP and well trained
local villagers. Best cultural teahouse
accommodation, safe drinking water facility.
