Tibet at a Glance
Tibet is situated at an average altitude
of over 5,000m. The very name "Tibet" evokes feelings of awe
and mystery, and is synonymous with mystery and breathtaking
scenery. A land of ancient Buddhist Culture, awesome landscapes,
artistic monasteries, exotic cities, hidden valleys and centuries-old
caravan
trails, Tibet offers a totally different experience, known
as the roof of the world, it is the destination for the ultimate
thrill-seeker.
Kathmandu, situated at the hub of the
ancient trans-Himalayan trade route, is the perfect launching
point for trips to this amazing land. Lhasa, 650km from Kathmandu,
can be reached either by road or air. The drive across the
Tibetan plateau to Lhasa, which retraces the old caravan trail,
is a changing panorama of farmhouses, lumbering yaks, vast
plains, monasteries clinging to stark hillsides and valleys
hemmed in by mountains of rock.
About our trips
Unlike other budget tour operators based in Kathmandu we organize the
best trips, a cut above everyone else's operation. We exclusively use
the latest model 4500 Toyota Landcruiser 4wd's, so no bouncy buses
(unlike the budget tours), and good Tibetan guides. Also we are better
at answering questions than anyone else. On these regular departures
you are likely to be joining a group of people from different
countries. If, however, any of our dates are unsuitable for you, we can
arrange a private tour for you or circulate your convenient dates and
find others to join you. Moreover, we can also customise a tour or a
trek to suit your exact requirements and dates. In short, we will make
every effort to get you on the trip you want, when you want.
The dates for these following trips are ex Kathmandu, you have to
arrive Kathmandu at least 2 days prior to each departure date. For a
comprehensive trip dossier or any further information, please
contact us.
